Results from tonight's Chico Airport Criterium..............

Hi Everyone! So, tonight was the first Tuesday Night Airport Criterium of the season! We had 26 riders come out to take part in this event - thank you ALL for coming out for this one! And a HUGE thank you goes out to Team Chico and PowerBar for providing some PowerBar goodies to give out as Prime prizes tonight!

We had 13 riders participate in the "A" Category event and 13 in the "B" Category event. The "A" event saw a 3-man breakaway take off early in the race and eventually lap the field - Michael Jasinski, David Albrecht and Jeff Galland! In the end, it was Jeff Galland holding off David Albrecht in the sprint, with Michael coming in 3rd and Ryan Olson 4th.

The "B" Category had the pack stay together for the entire race - although there were a couple attempts at a breakaway. In the end, it was speed demon, Matt Itamura, taking the sprint win over a hard-charging Denny McKenney and Maggie Jones coming in 3rd place!

We will be back out for the next Airport Criterium next Tuesday - March 17th - at 6pm. Tomorrow is the Fast 50, Thursday is the River Road 10-Mile Time Trial, Friday is the Cohasset Mini-Road Race, Saturday is the Pentz Road Time Trial and Sunday is both the Italian Triple and the Aguas Frias Road Race!
