Wednesday, April 15th - FAST 50 - The long-running "Fast 50" Wednesday night rides! The starting spot for this ride is in the parking lot of Rosedale Elementary School located at 100 Oak Street here in Chico. The ride leaves promptly at 6:00pm from the parking lot area. Many different levels of cyclists out there, so hook up with someone and enjoy the ride! A map of the course can be found here: http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Fast-50255824

Thursday, April 16th - River Road 10-Mile Time Trial - Registration opens at 5:40pm, with the first rider going off at 6:01pm. We will go in 1-minute intervals for this 5-miles out, 5-miles back, all-flat Time Trial. This classic Chico Time Trial course has been used for the last 29+ years. Come on out after work and give this one a shot! An extremely rough draft of this course can be found here - http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/River-Road-10-Mile-TT-Course (yes, the course is really 10 miles, not 9.9). And if you look at the Elevation Profile......it might tell you why coming back always seems a bit tougher than going out! (This Time Trial counts towards the 2009 Chico 10-Mile Time Trial Series!)

Friday, April 17th - Humboldt-Santos Mini-Road Race - Registration will open at 5:45pm on Humboldt Road - just past Stilson Canyon Road - here in Chico. The Start will be at 6:00pm. This "mini" Road Race will travel just 6.2 miles up the hill, and climb approximately 1,220 feet. You will go up to the top of Humboldt Road, up Hwy. 32 and finish at the turn-off to Santos Ranch Road. This is meant as an after-work little jam up one of our classic local climbs - just to get the legs warmed up for the weekend riding! Short, but sweet - and just go your own pace - no big whoop. I will be out there with a SAG vehicle, and water at the Start and Finish. Hope to see you out at this one!! Map of this course can be found here: http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Humboldt-Santos-Mini-Road-Race

Saturday, April 18th - Vilas Road Uphill Time Trial - The next event in the Butte Hill Climb Time Trial Series is Event #7 - The Category 1 Climb of Vilas Road! This event takes place on Saturday, April 18th at Nicalog & Cohasset Road.......the usual Starting Line for the Cohasset Time Trial. Registration will open at 8:15am, with the first rider going off at 9:01am. We'll ride up Cohasset Road to Cohasset, go past the Store, and keep going up Vilas Road(NOT Cohasset Road!) until it turns to dirt.......which is the finishing location. Approximately 7 miles in length, with about 2,360 feet of elevation gain. A map of this next course can be found here: http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Vilas-Road-Time-Trial Want to earn an EXTRA 5 POINTS - I still need a volunteer to start the riders off at the beginning - 5 points to anyone that can help me with this fun little endeavor.....and yes, you can still race the TT, you just have to be the last one to start!! (Part of the 2009 Butte Hill Climb Time Trial Series!)

Sunday, April 19th - Field of Dreams Time Trial - A NEW rolling course Time Trial! Registration will open at 8:30am at Spring Valley School on Pentz Road - the first rider will go off at 9:01am......and we will go in 1-Minute Intervals. This Time Trial is approximately 12.6 miles in length and includes some rolling terrain - for a total elevation gain of about 680 feet. The course itself is one big loop - so you'll have a chance to experience wind direction from a variety of locations!! The Start/Finish is at Spring Valley School on Pentz Road - you'll go to Hwy. 70 to Clark Road, take Clark Road to Durham Pentz Road, then Durham Pentz back to Pentz Road to the finish at the school.......all right-hand turns. The course will be marked with Route Arrows. A map of this course can be found here: http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Field-of-Dreams-Time-Trial-LongCourse

Sunday, April 19th - Airport LONG-course Criterium(using the 1-Mile course for this afternoon Criterium) - We'll be using the NEW Criterium Course for this event - the 1-Mile Chico Airport Long-Course. Registration will open at 4:15pm for this one, with the Start at 4:30pm. The course Starts & Finishes on Marauder Street.......over by the old Koret building on the north end of the Airport. A map of this course can be found here: http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Airport-Criterium-Long-Course . This event DOES count towards the 2009 Chico Airport Criterium Series. Also, in order to get use to this new course, the first 2 laps will be neutralized so that y'all can get a feel for the course in a pack situation. After that......expect lots of Point Primes. This new course has a little elevation gain to it as well - not much, but just enough to feel it. Category "A" will go for 45 Minutes PLUS 3 laps(remember - the course is 1-mile in length). Category "B" will go for 40 Minutes PLUS 3 laps. (Part of the 2009 Chico Airport Criterium Series!)
