That feels funky.....

So, in anticipation of Paskenta, I decided this past week to do something I have not done in 20 years - shave my legs. Man, what a weird feeling that is - I forgot what blue jeans can feel like when you have shaved legs. Totally totally funky. I mean, I remember it all now - and how the sheets felt against your legs in bed. Yikes. 1986 was my last leg-shaving - the worst part is having it grow in again. Man, what an awful feeling that was!

I know this whole leg shaving thing is primarily tradition in cycling and racing. Sure, it'll save you some pain and time healing if you crash, they're great to massage(as Lori attested to), they feel good on the bike....and they just make me feel a tad quicker(although I'm not!).

By the time I got done shaving, I had gone through three blades and had a pile of hair so large, I'm thinking of knitting a winter blanket. My legs feel totally naked! And the one thing I noticed - besides the fact that I need a tan - is the condition of my legs.......in general, they need training....lots of training! It was like opening a package on Christmas Day and finding out that you just received the coolest hubs on the planet.....but no spokes, rims, tires, tubes or cassette. Bummer......but hey, it's out there....just gotta go get it.

Think it's time to shave my head again - I'm gonna need a little more material for that blanket.
