The Father of the Guinea Pigging Training Method....
.....Bob Roll(#8). One word could be used to describe this dude back in the early 80s - Animal. He was a racer here in northern California and he was very strong....just a great racer. And you know, I think it had something to do with his training schedule:
-Ride 110 miles, 8,000 feet of climbing.
-Eat greasy hamburgers.
-Ride 90 miles, do intervals and sprints and fartlek training.
-Eat greasy hamburgers.
-Ride until you can't ride anymore, through snow and roadless winter wonderlands....hope you get picked up by someone who knows ya.
-Eat greasy hamburgers.
This is just the epitome of GP training. And you know, I think it worked out okay for him. As for me, well, it's still a work in progress. Don't think my burgers are greasy enough.
