Some Junior race in 1982.....

Me: "Hey man, who's that guy on the red bike?"
BC: "Hmmm. Don't know, never seen him before."
Me: "Why won't the dude pull off the front and let others work?"
BC: "I don't know. Maybe it's his first race."
Me: "Why is that guy taking off with two laps to go - doesn't he know he's gonna get caught?"
BC: "Weird."
Me: "Um, is it just me, or is he actually putting time into the pack now? Isn't it bell lap?"
BC: "Yeah, it's bell lap."
Me: "Uh, did he just win that race?? Who is this guy???"
BC: "No clue, never seen him before."

Well, as we found out at the end of the race, the dude's name was Scott. Still didn't really know who he was.....but we eventually would the following year. Being able to see his handlebar plugs in the final sprint in races was usually a bad sign for us. But for him, it was just another day at the office. And after all these years, the guy is still racing.....and winning.
