Okay, so, being the guinea pig that I am......
......this brilliant bike rider decided to guinea pig a new one last night. I keep hearing lately about the awesome power of chocolate milk for recovery after rides and hard workouts. Cool - chocolate milk......that sounds great! And quite simple.
So, being on the Guinea Pig training plan - and being the genius that I am - I thought it would be interesting to try the chocolate milk BEFORE the workout last night. Heck, maybe it's a great pre-ride/pre-workout drink as well!
Wrong. It's not. About 40 minutes in, and after the first set of cadence changes(aka - hill sprints), I felt a nervous little twitch in my stomach. Then, I felt a knot. Finally, I felt the chocolate milk wanting to show it's face again in it's semi-digested state. No, it's not a good pre-ride/pre-workout drink.......at least not for me.
But hey, you should give it a shot - maybe it'll be the perfect rocket fuel for your rides! Guinea Pig it.
