Saturday, July 30th - The Jonesville Road Race/Time Trial - 8:00AM:
Registration will open at 7:30am at the bottom of Humboldt Road here in Chico(right next to Stilson Canyon Road), with both the Category "A", Category "B" and Category "C" groups starting together promptly at 8:00AM. Women's, Juniors and Masters racers start together, but will be scored separately. This event was first held in June 2009 and proved to be a classic - see the 2009 Results listed below! The course is approximately 35.5 miles in length and climbs about 5,300+ feet from Chico to the Parking Lot up in Jonesville, California(a few miles past Butte Meadows). Same distance as the Messilla Valley Circuit Race.......but with almost twice as much climbing. I will be in the SAG Vehicle for support, water, breakdowns, whatever might be needed - and will be going back and forth on the course if there is a problem. I will have water & Clif Bars at the finish, but will not be able to give anyone a ride back to town.......so come prepared!! A map of this course can be Linkfound here:

Sunday, July 31st - The Upper Park Road Mountain Bike Time Trial - 9:00AM:
We held this off-road Upper Park Road Time Trial a few weeks ago and it a lot of fun!!! So, figured we'd try it again. This off-road Time Trial will start & finish at the Upper Park Road gate - just before the Upper Park Road turns to gravel, right near Horseshoe Lake. The course travels on Upper Park Road until the end - then comes back the same way - just an out-and-back off-road Time Trial. The start will be at the top of the hill - you will descend down the paved section to the gravel, and ride all the way until the end of Upper Park Road(turn around before it turns to single-track at the end!).......then back all the way to the start. The course is about 8.2 miles in length(or so - will get better measurements on the course and profile on R.A.C.E. day), with about 550 feet of total climbing. Cyclocross bikes and mountain bikes can be used - and runners are also welcome to give it a shot if they wish! Registration will open at 8:30am at the gate - with the 1st rider taking off at 9:01am......and, as usual, we will go in 1-minute intervals for this 4ish miles out, 4ish miles back in, off-road Time Trial. Monday, August 1st - The Bidwell Forest Mountain Bike Short-Track Race - NEW EVENT - 6:30pm:
Last Monday night's short-track race had 25 riders come out and it was a blast!!! So, thought we would give it another go! This race will start on the north side of the 5-Mile Recreation Area - near the dirt parking lot. Registration will open at 6:15pm for the 6:30pm start. The course will run through the single-track trails in "The Forest" in Upper Bidwell Park. This is an area just north of the 5-Mile Area - in between the 5-Mile and the entry to the North Rim Trail Parking Area. The course is VERY shaded and cool - great for summer racing - and is about 1.1 miles in length per lap......and is almost all single-track. The race will start and finish near the dirt parking area on the north end of 5-Mile, will be 40 minutes PLUS 2 laps. And, again, the course is about 1.1 miles in length, very shaded, and is ALL FLAT - no hills. The Course will be marked with flour arrows. We will race the course for 40 minutes, at which point I will give you the 2 laps to go sign. GREAT for beginners and Juniors - or those just wanting to get out on your mountain bikes for a spin! Can definitely use a cyclocross bike(Scott Heather won the race the 1st week on a cyclocross bike) - or even a road bike if you wanted - but is a mountain bike race. I will bring out ice water, as usual. For an approximate map of the course, please visit the MapMyRide link at:

RAIN, WET TRAILS OR CLOSED TRAILS WILL ALWAYS CANCEL THIS EVENT.
