Monday, April 18th - The North Rim Trail Mountain Bike Race - 6:00pm:
Registration will open at 5:40pm for this 6:00pm mountain bike race that goes up North Rim Trail, down B-Trail to Middle Trail....and Middle Trail back to North Rim. Usually takes riders anywhere between 45 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes to complete the entire race. Start is right near the North Rim Trail parking lot....near the Easter Cross. This is a training event to get y'all ready for those upcoming mountain bike races - and, in particular, the Bidwell Bump taking place on August 27th, 2011!! Hope you can make it out to this one!
Helmets are mandatory!
Rain or closed trails will always cancel this event!

Tuesday, April 19th - Chico Airport Criterium - 6:00PM(As & Bs) & 7:00PM(Cs and Junior Races):
This event will be held at the Chico Airport Criterium course starting at 6:00pm(for As & Bs) and 7:00pm(for Category C and Kids race)! Registration will open at 5:40pm on Convair avenue at the Airport - with the first event starting promptly at 6:00pm. We'll be using our standard Tuesday/Friday Night Chico Airport Criterium course starting/finishing at Convair Avenue:

Category "A" riders will go for 50 Minutes PLUS 3 laps, while Category "B" riders will go for 45 Minutes PLUS 3 laps - Women's Category/Masters Category picked separately. The Category C and Juniors Race will go for 20 Minutes PLUS 3 laps, IF there is enough light outside to hold a race. Riders must sign in and wear a helmet in order to compete. Prime Points will count towards the 2011 Chico Airport Criterium Series.
RAIN OR WET PAVEMENT WILL ALWAYS CANCEL THIS EVENT. Helmets are mandatory!!

Wednesday, April 20th - Humboldt Road Race - 6:30AM (3.4 miles and 751 feet of climbing - just an early morning leg burn!):
Get a great start on the day with this early morning ride/race up Humboldt! Registration will open at 6:40AM at the bottom of Humboldt Road(right near Stilson Canyon Road), with the race starting promptly at 7:00AM. ALL categories and abilities welcome!!! This will be a mass-start event for this short climb up Humboldt Road - starting near Stilson Canyon Road and finishing at the Stop Ahead Sign at the top of the hill. Wednesday, April 20th - The FAST 50 - 6:00PM:
The long-running "Fast 50" Wednesday night rides! The starting spot for this ride is in the parking lot of Rosedale Elementary School located at 100 Oak Street here in Chico. The ride leaves promptly at 6:00pm from the parking lot area. Many different levels of cyclists out there, so hook up with someone and enjoy the ride! Thursday, April 21st - River Road 16-Mile Time Trial - 6:00pm:
Registration opens at 5:40pm, with the first rider going off at 6:01pm. We will go in 1-minute intervals for this newer 8-miles out, 8-miles back, all-flat Time Trial. This Time Trial course was used for the first time last year and the riders really liked it - so, we're back at it again! Come on out after work and give this one a shot! Saturday, April 23rd - The Lomo-to-Jonesville Uphill Time Trial - 9:00AM:
This one will be held rain or shine, and is a Category 2 climb in this Series. The course starts in Lomo - which is the turn-off to Butte Meadows from Hwy. 32 - about 13 miles up the hill from Forest Ranch. There is a parking area across the street from the start location. The course goes up to the parking area in Jonesville. This is an amazingly beautiful ride - and you'll get in a good 20 miles of roundtrip riding - with awesome scenery! Registration will open at 8:30am at the Start location on Hwy. 32 - there is parking across the street in the parking area - with the first rider taking off at 9:01am.....and we will go in 1-minute intervals. Look for me and the R.A.C.E.mobile at the start area. The Lomo-to-Jonesville climb is considered a Category 2 climb in the Series, and climbs approximately 2,100 feet over 10.2 miles.. Saturday, April 23rd - The "Kids ONLY" Humboldt Road Race - 1:00PM:
From the bottom of the climb up to the main Power Lines (it's about half-way up Humboldt = 2 miles up, 400 feet of total climbing!) - For the kids under the Age of 16 who have been showing up to the Chico Airport Criteriums - now's your chance to experience a ROAD RACE!! Well.....at least a little one!! Registration will open at the bottom of the hill (near the intersection of Humboldt Road & Stilson Canyon Road) at 12:40pm. The RACE will start at 1:00pm. This one is 2 miles long and climbs approximately 400 feet - so bring your climbing legs!! I will have water at the Start & Finish. We're going just up to the Power Lines - not all the way up to the top. MENTORS are STRONGLY encouraged to attend - to keep an eye on our riders, help them out and encourage them up the hill. I will also be there with the SAG Vehicle, if needed. ***One Note - If enough older kids show, we may do a race up to the top of Humboldt too, depending upon help & logistics. Sunday, April 24th - The Messilla Valley Circuit Race - 9:00AM:
This classic Circuit Race course is back for the month of April! Registration will open at 8:30AM at the top of the hill of Messilla Valley Road - just near the intersection with Pentz Road. The "A" Category will be starting their event at 9:00AM, and the "B" Category going at 9:02AM, and if there are enough riders, the Junior and Category C event will start at 9:03AM(Category C and Juniors Event will be 5-laps, totaling 17.5 miles and 1500 feet of total climbing). The number of laps for Category A & B will remain the same as last year - 10 laps for each Category. Women's & Masters Categories will be combined with the Category "B" race, but picked separately. If you drive, please park at Spring Valley School, which is only 1-mile away from the Start/Finish Line - or at Butte College and ride in. There's not much parking at the Start/Finish area. The Messilla Valley Course is approximately 3.5 miles in length with about 300+ feet of climbing per lap. 10 laps = 35 miles and 3,000+ feet of climbing. ALSO - There will be 2 King of the Mountains/Queen of the Mountains points/laps in this race - points count towards the 2011 Butte Road R.A.C.E. Series. I will have one water container at the Start/Finish Line, but water bottle hand-ups will be SOLELY dependent upon Volunteers - so if you have a volunteer, bring 'em with you!
