Rain or Wet Pavement................

Hi Everyone!! Well, with this crazy weather going on, I have NO idea what it's going to be like this weekend at this point in time. However, I wanted to let you know that if it IS raining or if the pavement is quite wet, it is possible that one or both of the Saturday R.A.C.E. Events MAY be postponed - just wanted to give you a head's up, just in case:

Saturday, June 6th - Neal Road DOWNHILL Time Trial - 9:00AM - Registration will open at 8:30am at the top of Neal Road(near the intersection with the Skyway) for this Neal Road DOWNHILL Time Trial. The first rider will go off at 9:01AM and we will go in 1-minute intervals. The course is approximately 8.3 miles in length and drops approximately 1,400 feet. Finish is at the bottom, well before reaching Hwy. 99. One note - RAIN WILL CANCEL THIS EVENT! Saturday, June 6th - Airport LONG-course Criterium(using the 1-Mile course for this afternoon Criterium) - 6:00PM - We'll be using the NEW Criterium Course for this event - the 1-Mile Chico Airport Long-Course. Registration will open at 5:45pm for this one, with the Start at 6:00pm. The course Starts & Finishes on Marauder Street.......over by the old Koret building on the north end of the Airport. A map of this course can be found here: http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Airport-Criterium-Long-Course . This event DOES count towards the 2009 Chico Airport Criterium Series. Expect lots of Point Primes AND Bear Bucks!!!! This new course has a little elevation gain to it as well - not much, but just enough to feel it. Category "A" will go for 45 Minutes PLUS 3 laps(remember - the course is 1-mile in length). Category "B" will go for 40 Minutes PLUS 3 laps. HELMETS ARE MANDATORY! RAIN OR WET PAVEMENT WILL CANCEL THIS EVENT!! (Part of the 2009 Chico Airport Criterium Series!) (Race #2 in Rumpstomper Omnium)
