Tuesday, May 19th - Tuesday Night Chico Airport Criterium Series - Registration normally opens at 5:40pm on Convair avenue at the Airport - with the event starting promptly at 6:00pm. For the time being, we'll be using our standard Tuesday Night course starting/finishing at Convair Avenue - http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Chico-Airport-Tuesday-Night-Crit-Course . Category "A" riders will go for 55 Minutes PLUS 3 laps, while Category "B" riders will go for 50 Minutes PLUS 3 laps - Women's Category picked separately. Lots of Point Primes offered in this one!! Must sign in and wear a helmet in order to compete. RAIN OR WET PAVEMENT WILL CANCEL THIS EVENT. (Part of the 2009 Chico Airport Criterium Series!)

Wednesday, May 20th - FAST 50 - The long-running independent "Fast 50" Wednesday night rides! The starting spot for this ride is in the parking lot of Rosedale Elementary School located at 100 Oak Street here in Chico. The ride leaves promptly at 6:00pm from the parking lot area. Many different levels of cyclists out there, so hook up with someone and enjoy the ride! 6:00AM Thursday, May 21st - River Road 10-Mile Time Trial - Beat the heat!!! YES, an early morning version to get your workout in before the day begins!!! Registration will open at 5:45am, with the first rider going off at 6:01am. We will go in 1-minute intervals for this 5-miles out, 5-miles back, all-flat Time Trial. This classic Chico Time Trial course has been used for the last 29+ years. Come on out before work and give this one a shot! WORD OF WARNING - to quote Elmer Fudd, we will be vewy vewy quiet!!! And if you look at the Elevation Profile......it might tell you why coming back always seems a bit tougher than going out! (Part of the 2009 Chico 10-Mile Time Trial Series!)

6:00PM Thursday, May 21st - Meridian Road 10-Mile Time Trial (a new course!) - A NEW course to try out in the 10-Mile Time Trial Series. We'll be heading to Meridian Road, just north of Chico for this one. This is a straight 5-mile out, 5-mile back in Time Trial - the course has approximately 130 feet of total climbing....primarily on the way out. Registration will open at 5:40pm with the first rider going off at 6:01pm. We will be going in 1-Minute Intervals. You must sign in at the start! The Start/Finish Line is just past the left sweeper turn on Meridian Road......the turn-around is before you get to Lassen Road(this is the same section of Meridian used on the Paskenta Century). Riders will travel north for 5 miles, then back south for 5 miles. Friday, May 22nd - Cohasset Narrows Mini-Road Race Registration will open at 5:45pm on Ryan Avenue on the north end of the airport - just to the west of the Fifth Sun parking lot(look for me on Ryan Avenue with the clipboard). Ride leaves at 6:00pm and will climb to just past the "Road Narrows" & "Share The Road" sign at the top of the "good" road - just go your own pace. The ride itself is only about 7 miles in length, but includes about 1,500 feet of climbing. I will be there with the sag vehicle if you run into a problem - and will be at the finish line to score you - I will have water too. This is a great little after-work ride to stretch the legs a bit for the weekend! Sunday, May 24th - Lomo to Jonesville Time Trial (starts at Hwy. 32 at entrance to Butte Meadows; ends at the snowmobile parking lot in Jonesville) - This is the FINAL event in the Butte Hill Climb Time Trial Series! This 10.2 mile course climbs approximately 2,000 feet - starting at Lomo and finishing at the parking lot up in Jonesville. This is considered a Category 1 climb, and a map of this course can be found here: http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Lomo-to-Jonesville-Time-Trial . And let me say this - it is amazingly beautiful up there!!! Registration will open at 8:30am at the corner of Hwy. 32 and the turn-off to Butte Meadows(look for me in the parking area across the Hwy.).......first rider will go off at 9:01am and we will go in 1-minute intervals. The trophy presentation is planned for later in the day - or possibly Monday night(since it's graduation weekend). Stay tuned for details. (FINAL EVENT in the Butte Hill Climb Time Trial Series!!)

Sunday, May 24th - Airport Short-course Criterium - We'll be using our standard Tuesday Night Airport Criterium Course for this event. Registration will open at 4:45pm for this one, with the Start at 5:00pm. A map of this course can be found here: http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/Chico-Airport-Tuesday-Night-Crit-Course . This event DOES count towards the 2009 Chico Airport Criterium Series. Expect lots of Point Primes!!!! This is a slightly shorter length Criterium than the Tuesday Night event. Category "A" will go for 50 Minutes PLUS 3. Category "B" will go for 45 Minutes PLUS 3 laps. HELMETS ARE MANDATORY! RAIN OR WET PAVEMENT WILL CANCEL THIS EVENT!! (Part of the 2009 Chico Airport Criterium Series!)
