Gotta love it.......this club is gettin' it together.....

.....in a great way. Thanks for the ride report Geno - sounds epic:

I showed up at One Mile this morning dressed to ride, but without my bike. It was starting to rain and I thought that I could ride SAG for the 2 people that I knew would not be detered by the rain.

So when 7 guys showed and made me feel like a wimp, I decided to get my bike. As we started to drive towards Paskenta the sky was clearing. And the day just got better.

At the park in Paskenta we decided to do Toomes Camp Road first. It was safer to descend under wet road conditions and I was hoping that the other road would dry out before we got there. The clouds covered the tops of both mountains, so fog was an issue.....so was the cold. The beauty of the ride, not in full bloom due to visibility, was still spectacular.

We were unable to reach the summit due to a snow-covered road. We missed the top by a thousand feet or so. Descending this road was cold. According to my Ciclo Sport the wind chill dipped to just 15 degrees.

The second climb was more beautiful and the roads were mostly dry. The climb was peaceful, yet I bonked. I turned back to descend with the guys just a half mile or so from where the snow blocked the road. Descending was again cold, but fun. The views are unreal up there. Once back at base camp we could see the rain was pouring over the first mountain we climbed. We were very fortunate to have climbed that first. As we put our bikes on the cars, the thunder roared and it began to rain. The cycling Gods were very kind to us today. Thanks for the great ride guys.
