It was that time in life.....
......when I found it necessary to get a new Primary Care Physician. Had my first appointment with him this morning. It's always one of those situations when you wonder if you made the correct decision in switching physicians. In my case, I found my former doctor to be a little too rushed all the time in seeing me in his office.......basically, I felt ignored. Wasn't sure what I was going to run into with the new doc, but I found out this morning.
How do I know I made the correct decision???
2 minutes into the normal, typical, doctor-patient conversation, the magical subject comes up......Cycling!
Turns out my new doctor is a former Category 2 racer from the 1980s right here in California. Perfect!! No having to explain my shaved legs, what Hammergel is, the interval workout I did yesterday, what a Century means, my resting heart rate, what goes on in a sprint workout, how to peak for an event, how all my blood sugar readings correlate to my training(I'm a diabetic), and the whole racing/riding/cycling thing.
It was a 45 minute meeting with my new doc this morning - half of it talking cycling. SWEEEEET!!!
Yeah, I'm pretty confident I made the right decision to switch docs - not only is he concerned with my health, he's concerned with my cycling. That just kicks ass in my book.
