2005 Fremont Crit.......

......yes, that is Larry Nolan with his head cut off(remember, I'm the world's suckiest photographer). I saw these three guys take off in a breakaway that would eventually stay away the entire Masters 35+ 1/2/3 race. Behind Nolan is Hutch, and behind him is the eventual winner of the race, Takumi Shimomura......who apparently was having some bike handling problems in the winds that were blowing. I thought for sure Larry would take these two guys in this race......but the pulls he was taking into the headwind were gut-busters. The look of pain & agony on his face every lap looked like pure hell. Course, he is partly responsible for them staying away the whole race.

As it turns out, Nolan burnt all his matches and ended up coming in 3rd. Prior to that though, he pretty much burned an inferno.
